Chevrolet answers the question: What would a second generation Volt designed by Chevrolet look like?
I'm really tired of this whole this car looks like this car stuff. With the way modern design is going, a lot of cars look like a lot of other cars.
I'm sure the Volt was designed mostly by a wind tunnel and not much else to be insanely aerodynamic. The shape of it just happens to look vaguely similar to the Civic is a byproduct of that.

I think it's really petty to attack styling on cars that are designed solely around fuel economy. Just be happy they didn't make it look like a Prius like the first one or like Honda did with the Insight.

While "designed by a wind tunnel" is usually partly true, too often it's a copout. There are plenty of makers bringing unique looks to the table that *are* aerodynamic, and the current sense of what *looks* aerodynamic often isn't. There's a huge amount of follow-the-leader going on.

It's not even an issue of modern design. Cars of the same era look the same. Design trends. They're a thing. Get over it, nerds.
